The 2015 Ford F-250 is exactly what you expect it to be. The leader of the pack. It builds on the success of the 2014 model by adding that new diesel motor and adding further options to the King Ranch trim.
The Ford F-250 is a workhorse, which shows in the styling. It's big, chunky and looks as solid as a rock. It's all those things and more. It's also handsome, can tow up to 16,800 pounds and carry up to 4,240 pounds. It's a truck designed to get the job done.
The exterior styling is handsome. That huge front end with all that chrome is imposing when you see it in the rear view mirror, but reassuring when you're standing beside it. Those huge headlights light the way with ease too.
A big cab, flared wheel arches and a decent load bed at the back all shout capability while big alloys allow a little style into the equation.
The inside of the 2015 Ford F-250 still has the F-series quality we look for while offering decent levels of technology, options and survivability. This is a working truck, so a balance has to be struck between luxury and practicality. We think Ford got it just right.
Interior insulation and sound deadening is very effective. You can have MyFord Touch and SYNC, LCD displays in the dashboard, a touchscreen in the center stack and all the controls are designed to work with fingers wearing work gloves. As we said, a good balance.
Under the hood is where the big news is for the 2015 Ford F-250. The standard 6.2-liter gasoline engine that produces 385 hp and 405 lb-ft of torque remains. But the new 6.7-liter turbocharged diesel engine is the new kid on the block. It's a V8 that delivers 400 hp and 860 lb-ft of torque. Both engines use the Ford six-speed automatic transmission.
The 2015 Ford F-250 comes as a regular cab, SuperCab and SuperCrew cab, with two or four-wheel drive. There are five trim levels on top of that, XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch and Platinum.
The F-250 XL is all business and comes with 17 inch steel wheels, black exterior trim, air conditioning, cloth interior and radio. The XLT trim adds 17 inch wheels, chrome trim, heated mirrors, cruise control, power everything, keyless entry, trailer brake controller, Ford Sync, Bluetooth and CD audio.
Lariat adds a leather interior, dual-zone climate control, MyFord Touch, rear camera, parking sensors, fog lights and SiriusXM radio. King Ranch offers Western styling, upgraded leather and 20 inch alloy wheels.
The range-topping F-250 Platinum adds lots of chrome, 20 inch alloy wheels, wood trim, heated and ventilated seats, heated steering wheel and upgraded leather interior.
The 2015 Ford F-250 is the continuation of a dominant theme. A well-specified, well-built truck that can work hard while looking after you at the same time.
